Dolly Parton Calls It 'An Honor And A Joy' To Team Up With Motley Crüe On One Of Their Classics

Dolly Parton has a new song out, with one of the most legendary rock bands of all time. Parton joins Motley Crüe on "Home Sweet Home," in honor of the song's 40th anniversary. The song was first released in 1985, from Motley Crüe's third studio album, Theatre of Pain.

"It was an honor and a joy working in the studio on Mötley Crüe's 40th Anniversary re-release of 'Home Sweet Home,'" Parton says (via American Songwriter). "I was so pleased that they would ask me to sing on such a classic."

Motley Crüe is also ecstatic to team up with the Country Music Hall of Fame member.

"For an icon like Dolly Parton to sing on a song that has not only meant so much to us but to all the fans through the years, is a career high that means a lot to us," the band says in a joint statement. "We couldn't be happier to celebrate the 40th anniversary of 'Home Sweet Home' in this special way, and we're excited to share this version of the song with all the Dolly and Mötley fans around the world."

A portion of the proceeds from the new version of "Home Sweet Home" will go to Covenant House, a nonprofit that benefits homeless youth.

"That we were able to unite with Dolly to raise awareness for homeless youth and the amazing work of Covenant House, which provides them safe housing and care, makes it even more special," Motley Crüe adds. "We hope you'll enjoy 'Home Sweet Home' featuring Dolly Parton as much as Dolly and we enjoyed creating it."

Dolly Parton's Love of Rock Music

Parton might be one of the biggest country music stars of all time. Fortunately, she also has a deep appreciation of rock music. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, Parton released Rockstar one year later.

The project is a mix of original and cover songs, joined by stars like Sting, Richie Sambora, Joan Jett and more.

"I can't tell you how proud I am of the Rockstar album. And I can't tell you how happy I am that it's finally here to be released," Parton said when Rockstar was released. "I really had a wonderful time working with all these iconic artists on the record and all these iconic musicians. Not to mention all these iconic songs that I think everybody will love hearing again. I just hope you enjoy my version of them."
