Dolly Parton is clearly dealing with some concerning health issues lately. The nature of those health problems is unclear. Parton, 79, recently put off some scheduled Las Vegas concert dates by almost a whole year. That change was reportedly because of a health situation she did not specify. Now, her sister, Freida Parton, 68, says per People via
Facebook that she is praying hard for the beloved country music icon. She implores Dolly's loyal fans to do the same.Videos by Wide Open Country
Freida Parton Posted a Heartfelt Message on Facebook
This is what Freida posted on October 7. "Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn't been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me. She's strong, she's loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she's going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!" A red heart emoji marked the conclusion of the post.
The post is accompanied by a striking image of Dolly in a silvery dress in a woodsy setting. Her hands are pressed together firmly as if in prayer.
Fans Responded With Kind Thoughts and Their Sincere Support
Many heeded Freida's urgent call for prayers for Dolly. They left posts with praying hands emojis and compassionate, spiritual thoughts. They obviously cherish the singer and fervently wish her well.
Dolly Recently Announced She Was Stepping Back From Her Planned Las Vegas Shows
On September 28, Dolly made this statement on Instagram that had fans worried. "I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I've been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000 check-up, although it's not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!"
She added, "In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You see good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you."
Dolly ended with this. "While I'll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don't worry about me quittin' the business because God hasn't said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding."
We love you right back, Dolly! Take care and be well!
