Don't Count On Jane's Addiction Ever Reuniting

Some wounds are just too deep to heal. After their very explosive and public falling out, Jane's Addiction is calling it a day and has come to terms with their irreconcilable differences.

It was during a show at Boston's Leader Bank Pavilion in September 2024 that the fight broke out. Due to some altercation on stage, Jane's Addiction lead singer Perry Farrell punched fellow bandmate Dave Navarro. This happened in front of a crowd.

The outburst cut not only the show short, but also the whole tour. The tiff was bigger than any of them, and they cancelled all future tour dates. It doesn't look like they will ever be performing again, either.

Speaking about the incident, Navarro says that Jane's Addiction is finished. "There's no chance for the band to ever play together again," he told Guitar Player. "It's still very tender and unresolved."

So Much Wasted Time And Effort in Cancelled Jane's Addiction Tour

None of the members of Jane's Addiction are exactly spring chickens. Organising a tour and gigging day after day is taxing. So, calling off a whole tour is no small decision, and Navarro acknowledges how much it took from them all.

"There was an altercation onstage, and all the hard work and dedication and writing and hours in the studio, and picking up and leaving home and crisscrossing the country and Europe and trying to overcome my illness — it all came to a screeching halt and forever destroyed the band's life," he said in the interview.

The fall came just before an all-time high for Jane's Addiction, according to Dave Navarro. "I'll just say that the experience prior to that gig, when we were in Europe and gelling, really, for the first time — because at our ages, in our 50s and 60s, everybody's done what they're gonna do, and we weren't competitive with each other — we were getting along," he told the outlet. He even tragically said their ultimate shows were, "some of my favorite Jane's Addiction gigs of all-time."

It's an awful shame to see them work so hard for a tour like this, only to have it all fall apart. Farrel has since apologised and admitted he lost control. However, this is the end for Jane's Addiction.
