When Ella Langley unveiled the artwork for her new single "Choosin' Texas" earlier this week, fans began thinking that the song revealed something about the singer's relationship status.

Langley said we can stop speculating because she has revealed its inspiration. And to hear her explain it, we have to admit it makes perfect sense.
What's the Story With the "Choosin' Texas" Artwork?
As we reported on Tuesday, the cover art for the single features a couple driving in a red convertible into the city of Amarillo. The driver is wearing a cowboy hat while a beautiful blonde sits next to him.
Fans believe the couple represent Riley Green and Megan Moroney. Despite the rumors—which gained traction after a TikTok video of the two in a car—both singers claim they are single.
Fans also thought Langley and Green were a couple after they worked together on "You Look Like You Love Me." Again, both singers have denied this.
However, given that the song is about being on the losing end of a love triangle, many have assumed that the cover of "Choosin' Texas" mirrors the image of Moroney and Green in his convertible from the viral TikTok clip.
However, fans may have overlooked one detail: Moroney is from Georgia, not Texas. However, one of the song's co-writers, Miranda Lambert, is from Texas. That brings us to this next point...
Ella Langley Wrote the Song About Miranda Lambert and a Kangaroo
Langley and Lambert, along with Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor, wrote the song during a writing retreat a year ago. She shared the story during a show at The Listening Room in Nashville.
"She told me she had a pet kangaroo, and she was doing something, she was driving down a dirt road, and the kangaroo was in the back seat, and the dog was in the front seat. There was a lot going on," she explained.
Langley continued, "Then she got pulled over with a kangaroo in the passenger seat. And I was like, 'This story's as good as I thought it would be.' She said the lady cop pulled her over, and she's like, 'Of course I have Texas plates on the back of my car.'
Langley added, "I was walking to the bathroom and I started to go, 'She's from Texas, I can tell by the way he's two-steppin' around the room.' And Miranda was walking behind me to the bathroom, a separate one, and she was like, 'Wait a minute! The b***h he went with, she's from Texas, I can tell.' The girl he went with, you know?
"And from there, I think the song fell out in about 30 minutes, and it's one of my favorite ones we got off the retreat that weekend."
