Elvis Presley's Ex Ann-Margret Makes Public Appearance After Health Scare

Ann-Margret, the entertainer best known for her work during the 1960s in popular films like Bye Bye Birdie and Viva Las Vegas with Elvis Presley, is a survivor. At 85, she is still resolutely going strong. However, fans have been worried about the actress, singer, and dancer. She fell not long ago and unfortunately broke her elbow at home. However, Ann-Margret was seen in recently in public on April 29 seeming quite fit and well, per People.

She was honored at a USO event held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, California. Ann-Margret was resented with a prestigious accolade - the USO Challenge Coin. Per the outlet, only Bob Hope has received this honor previously. (He died in 2003 at the age of 100.)

She Looked Beautiful and Radiant

The star was being commended by the USO for being actively supportive of the nation's men and women in uniform. Clad stylishly in a bright shade of lime, her signature red tresses were worn long and loose. She accentuated her look with oversized, black-rimmed glasses. Ann-Margret was evidently feeling pretty spry.

The occasion was marked by the presence of several illustrious VIPs. They included Barbara Barrett of the USO Board of Governors, comedy writer Bruce Vilanch, Michael Linnington, CEO of the USO, and Linda Hope, Bob Hope's daughter.

The USO Issued an Appreciative Statement About Ann-Margret

The USO warmly lauded Ann-Margret for entertaining our troops in a statement. It said in part, "2026 marks the 85th birthdays for both Ann-Margret and the USO, united in their shared commitment to lift spirits, serve those who serve and bring a touch of home wherever duty calls." Ann-Margret twice performed for our service members in Southeast Asia amidst the ongoing Vietnam War.

She Spoke Previously About Her Injury

The star shared her thoughts about her elbow injury with Parade in mid-April. She clearly was focused on recovering and getting on with her life, not feeling glum. That buoyant attitude is surely a big help to her, especially in tough times.

The Emmy and five-time Golden Globe Award winner said, "I fell the other day and so now my right elbow is broken. That's okay - I have fallen so many times. I don't intend to, but I do! What can I say?"

Even though she had to bow out of an autograph signing appearance back then, Ann-Margret nevertheless insisted at the time that she was definitely on the mend. Her elegant turnout and upbeat demeanor at the USO event proves that she was correct.
