For thirteen seasons, King of the Hill made fans thirst for some Alamo. Next to Duff Beer and the Krabby Patty, it's certainly in the pantheon of fictional goods. To celebrate the long-anticipated reboot of the show, they're at last making Alamo real.
According to the San Antonio Express-News, Alamo Beer Co. is has teamed up with Hulu to produce real Alamo beer. I mean, who else to make Alamo Beer than Alamo Beer?
The Texas-based brewery will be producing a beer that has a faithful look to the beer seen in the show. And it'll be just in time for the 10-episode series.
Alamo Beer founder Eugene Simor spoke to Express-News about the product, "It's real."
We don't have a concrete release date for the beverage, however, "We're just trying to finalize when the actual date will be for release."
We can expect the beer to launch in July or August. If the product is received well enough, it could be here to stay. So if you want Alamo to be more than a novelty, make sure to have one by your side when binging the show.
Early Reactions Positive For Alamo Beer
During the King of the Hill sneak peek event earlier in May, samples of the brew were handed out. One attendee of the Austin event said the beer was "easily chuggable." So no worries in that department.
"I personally loved it, has a similar taste to a Coors Banquet and sits at a cool 4.4% abv," a fan said. "It goes down very smooth, it tastes pretty much exactly how you'd expect."
Those in Texas can expect to enjoy Alamo earlier than the rest of the nation. The beer will be distributed throughout Texas before it gets sent across the nation. So Texas natives can look forward to receiving the beer as soon as possible.
