While most of us venture to Texas Roadhouse for their incredible steaks and delicious bread rolls, I bet there is something there that you may not have noticed. Or perhaps you did notice it but couldn't figure out why it was there. Tucked in a corner somewhere in the restaurant, under a neon guitar is a sort of shrine to Willie Nelson. Featuring some photos of the musical legend. But why does every Texas Roadhouse have this corner dedicated to Willie Nelson in it?

The Truth Behind Texas Roadhouse And The Willie Nelson Corners

While you may have thought your neighborhood Texas Roadhouse was special, I hate to break it to you but it is not. Every single restaurant in the chain boasts this corner dedicated to the country legend, but the question is why. Perhaps the owner was just a fan of Nelson's music? A good theory, but the truth goes a little deeper than that.
In a
Facebook post, the company cleared the air and shared exactly why every Texas Roadhouse has a Willie Nelson corner. Apparently, Nelson and the founder of the restaurant chain, Kent Taylor, were good friends. They met "at a Farm Aid benefit concert, which benefits farmers." Over the years, and many poker games, their friendship blossomed.Besides just being great friends Nelson's contributions to county music was another reason for the recognition in the restaurant. These little shrines in the corner celebrate not only a country legend and his incredible career, but pay homage to an old friend and his successes. Additionally, employees may even rock their very own Willie Braids from time to time. All very fitting, if you ask me, as Texas Roadhouse has a very laid-back attitude.
Great steaks and paying homage to a legend, seems like two great reasons to visit this fine establishment.
