How Rob Reiner Rose to Fame
Reiner first rose to fame with his role as Mike "Meathead" Stivic on All In The Family, which aired on CBS. He won two Emmy Awards for his role on that show, and it helped launch what turned out to be a highly successful career in the industry.
A director role on the hit movie Spinal Tap soon followed. He's since directed The Princess Bride, Stand By Me and A Few Good Men. The latter received a nomination for "Best Picture."
Of course, Reiner didn't stick to directing. He also held roles in some major Hollywood productions, most notably Sleepless In Seattle and The Wolf Of Wall Street.
More recently, Reiner has played a role as "Bob Day" on the hit TV series New Girl, amassing 11 total appearances. He also made four appearances as "Albert Schnurr" on The Bear, which has been earning rave reviews.
Rob Reiner Never Hid His Political Stance
As has become increasingly common among celebrities, Reiner never hid his political stance. He regularly took to social media to share his point of view. He's also been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump.
In 1998, Reiner spearheaded a ballot initiative to increase taxes on tobacco products, with the aim of funding childhood programs. However, he was less successful in 2006 when leading an initiative that would increase taxes on top earners to fund half-day preschool for all children in California aged 4.
Reiner was more than just a talented actor and director. He was involved in his community and always sought to make California a better place. His presence, along with that of Singer's, will be sorely missed. They leave behind three children, Jack, Nick and Romy. Reiner also leaves behind Tracy, who is his daughter from a previous marriage.
