Fans Are Concerned About David Hasselhoff After Actor Spotted In Wheelchair

All the greats are getting on a bit, and although David Hasselhoff was once a Baywatch heartthrob, even he is having to take a seat and ride a wheelchair these days.

Hasselhoff, now 72, was spotted in LAX being pushed around the airport in a wheelchair. But he didn't look like he was in bad health. He even took the time to flash the cameras a smile and a thumbs up.

As he approached his wife, he eased himself gently out and grabbed on to her for support. David Hasselhoff reassured the fans waiting at the airport that he was only in a wheelchair because he needed knee surgery next week. I imagine it was intended to keep excess strain from the joint. The man is in his 70s, after all. All that slow motion running down the beach takes a toll on the body.

Reps And Insiders Disagree On Hasselhoff Health

After being sighted in LAX using a wheelchair, the PR agents of David Hasselhoff reassured people it was simply a precaution. "David is doing fine and actually he and [his] wife were returning from a great vacation in Cancun last week," they informed fans.

However, according to the highly unreputable Daily Mail, an insider, close to the Hoff has another opinion. "David is living on borrowed time and has lived hard," they told the outlet. "He had a life that people could only dream of. But he also spent decades self-medicating through alcohol and other substances, which he does regret." David Hasselhoff hardly seems like a man racked with regret.

The doom spreading insider went on to comment on Hasselhoffs ticking clock. "He is in his 70s and has had several major operations, including having a defibrillator fitted to prevent a heart attack," they said. "He is sober now but knows that every surgery could be the last."

Despite what the alleged Daily Mail 'insider' said, Hasselhoff seemed fine after his wheelchair ride. He's an old man, and he's lived a life, but he hardly seems at death's door. I doubt we will see him life guarding a beach any time soon. But, I think he has a few more years left in a sun lounger at least.
