According to the NHTSA recall notice, this issue could result in "crash, fire death, injury." That notice also mentions that "Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition."

This is a problem that could potentially lead to major safety consequences. If left unrepaired, it could possibly cause a driver to lose control of their ability to steer safely. To correct the problem, dealers will fix or replace the defective part. Absolutely no cost for the repair will be incurred by the vehicles' owners.

Mailed Notices About This Problem Will Be Sent to Owners

A notice about this issue will go out in the mail to owners of the affected trucks on October 6. There will also reportedly be a follow-up mailing two months after that. Per the outlet, "Ford's number for the recall is 25S94. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall are searchable on NHTSA's website."

This Is Not the Only Recent Ford Recall

The auto maker recalled almost two million vehicles internationally due to problems with their rearview cameras. They "may display inverted, distorted or blank images," per the outlet. In addition, last month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that 355.000 trucks manufactured by Ford that were sold in this country were being recalled. The problem with those vehicles was a faulty dashboard display.
