According to Federal regulators, Ford may be in trouble. Currently, more than 355,000 of the company's trucks are being recalled due to issues with the dashboard display. This is a mishap that could put drivers at risk of being in more accidents. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a statement this week, announcing the recall of various Ford truck models.

This is due to issues with the instrument panel software on Ford trucks. This includes models from the 2025-2026 F-Series, as well as 5-150 trucks, 2018 Ford Edges, and some Lincoln SUVs.
Why a Faulty Dashboard Might Be Problematic for Ford Drivers
The instrument panel software, which is where many Ford owners are finding trouble, is designed to display important information. This panel can be easily accessed right behind the steering wheel of most cars. The primary purpose of this device is to alert the driver when the vehicle may be in critical condition. It also serves as an indicator for the vehicle's speed, mileage, and fuel level at any given time.
Ford told FOX Business, "This condition can prevent safety-related telltales and gauges from being readable, increasing the risk of a crash as critical safety information may not be displayed." Apparently, the panel tends to fail after the engine of a Ford truck is started, and the company is investigating the possibility of updating the software.
There are 95 warranty claims and one vehicle owner questionnaire (VOQ) related to the malfunctioning dashboard, but no accidents related to the problem have been reported so far.
Ford owners can contact the company with any related questions at 1-866-436-7332. The Ford recall notice is 25S88.
