Former Alabama Sports Reporter Found Dead, Hoover Police Issue Statement

Christina Chambers, a former sports reporter, has been found dead along with her husband, in what is suspected to be a murder suicide

Former sports reporter, Christina Chambers, was one of two people found dead in a suspected murder suicide. When giving a statement to the People, the Hoover Police Department stated that there doesn't appear to be any risk to the general public.

"The Hoover Police Department said in its press release that "although the investigation is in its early stages, it appears these deaths are the result of a murder/suicide and there is no threat to the public related to this case," People reported.

Chamber's husband was also found dead at the scene. Their three-year-old son was present at the property but unharmed. The couple had been married since 2021.

In

a statement posted to Facebook, Chamber's former employer, Alabaster City Schools, shared the news of her passing.

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of our former employee, Christina Chambers. Christina worked for Alabaster City Schools as the director of our Broadcasting Academy. In this role, she led THS TV, sharing her extensive television experience with our students. Christina also used her talents on the sidelines, with live reporting for the Warrior Nation Network on many Friday nights. Our thoughts and prayers are with Christina's family and all of those impacted by this tragic loss."

Christina Chambers Worked as a Sports Reporter for Multiple Outlets

During her career as a reporter, Chambers worked for multiple companies, often as a freelancer. She worked for WBRC between 2015 and 2021, including a season as a freelance football reporter. After leaving WBRC, Chambers began working for Thompson High School.

WBRC released a statement regarding Chamber's death on X.

"We are absolutely heartbroken to share this news. We have confirmed former WBRC sports reporter Christina Chambers is one of the two people found dead in a Hoover home Tuesday morning,"

Currently, no further details regarding the incident that led to Chamber's death have been revealed. The investigation is still ongoing. Therefore, details of the funeral and service are still weeks away. The family will undoubtedly request privacy at this difficult time.
