I loved Friday Night Lights. The series aired on NBC on Friday nights from 2006 to 2011 and it was exceptional. "Inspired by" the book of the same name by Buzz Bissinger, it centered on a fictional high school football coach in the make-believe town of Dillon, Texas. Coach Eric Taylor was played by Kyle Chandler. His wife, a high school guidance counselor, was depicted by Connie Britton. The rest of the cast was highlighted by their adolescent daughter, and the gaggle of friends who were part of her circle. The clannishness and insularity of small-town life was deftly used as the backdrop.

Brilliantly written and acted, it went off the air far too soon. Never a ratings blockbuster, the drama had an intensely loyal following. One of the stars of the first iteration, Taylor Kitsch, 43, is talking about the possibility of a reboot. Maybe the magic of the initial go-round of this show can be recaptured. I hope so!
Taylor Kitsch Has Reportedly Been Reached Out To For A 'Friday Night Lights' Reboot
That Would Make The Show's Fans Very Happy (Including Me!)
When he was interviewed on The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw airing on SiriusXM, Taylor Kitsch did acknowledge the fact that he had been approached to come back for a new version of the show. He hedged a bit as to the degree of involvement he would be comfortable with if the drama returns.
From The Spotlight via dailymail.co.uk, Kitsch said, "I know I've been asked, and we'll leave it at that."
Was he asked to portray a coach? "No. But to be a part of some kind of reboot. I'm always flattered. Never say never. But I would come in and do something - maybe for an episode or something. But I don't want to go and do the whole thing."
Kitsch elaborated a bit. "I'd go and have fun. But I don't want to lead or anything. I love the continuous, challenging roles and to keep pushing."
He added, "I'd maybe play an opposing team's coach or something, and be on screen for like, eight seconds. I would do that, sure."
He And Former 'Lights' Co-Star Minka Kelly Were Reportedly An Item During The Show's Run
She Claims Their Relationship Was Problematic And Volatile
In her memoir, Tell Me Everything, Kelly wrote via dailymail.uk.co, "All the effort I might have invested in connecting consistently with the girls on the show went to Taylor,. So when my relationship with Taylor became toxic, I had no one to turn to."
