'Full House' Star Dave Coulier Reveals That Bob Saget Visits Him in His Dreams

Dreams can be seemingly unexplainable. Sometimes, they can be reflections of reality in ways that we can't always decipher. Oftentimes, they can be very abstract and seemingly nonsensical. This compounds further when you take grief and life altering moments into account. As Full House mainstay Dave Coulier kept recovering from his brutal battle with stage 3 cancer, his dreams became increasingly surreal and comforting alike. Apparently, one of his old friends would visit him in his slumber to make him laugh like old times.

Recently, Coulier spoke with Parade Magazine amidst learning that he was almost in the clear from his cancer battle. There, he expresses his grief in losing Bob Saget back in 2022. However, it's not all gloom and doom with Dave. Instead, he reveals that Saget takes on a new form in his dreams. "I miss Bob so much, I truly had a brother [in him]. I met Bob when I was 18 years old," Coulier explains. "And by the way, yes, he comes to me in my dreams and he always does something silly and foolish and makes me laugh."

Additionally, Dave candidly talks about moments where he wishes that Saget would be around to talk to during his bout with cancer. His uncanny way of making him laugh amidst the anxiety around his health would've proven to be a lifesaver in distressing times. "'How are you doing? What's the prognosis, Dave? Tell me what's going on.' He would have driven me crazy," Coulier says. "It was a lovable crazy that he had. I think about him often. I'll be having a moment of clarity, and I'll think, 'Oh, call Bob,' and then I realize I can't."

It's one of the truest displays of how grief is simply love enduring. It's these kinds of moments that were necessary for Coulier. There were times when he was ready to die, for all the pain to go away. Elsewhere with Parade, his wife Melissa Bring candidly admits to wanting to give it up entirely. "After [the fifth round of] chemo, he was like, 'I don't know if I could do this again,'" she recalls. "He was like, 'I'm prepared either way. If I die, I die. And if I can stay here, great. I want to.' Those conversations were obviously so tough."
