Gavin Adcock Shares Where the Beer Throwing Tradition at His Concerts Started

Gavin Adcock shares the origin story of why fans now throw beer cans at his concerts. It wouldn't be an Adcock show without beer, right?

Gavin Adcock knows how to put on a show. Whether this "show" includes Gavin performing or borderline getting kicked out of his own concert, who's to say? Either way, he knows how to keep his audience entertained and the news talking about his antics. Just recently, the singer went on a podcast to talk about his favorite concert tradition, which is one that he actually started.

On the Like A Farmer podcast, he talked about the "beer throwing" tradition that happens at his concerts. Gavin admitted that the way the ritual started was "kind of [his] fault." He shared what went down at a show in Ohio.

He told Josh Allen, "I said, this was the last song, I sang 'Deep End,' and I don't know why I said this, I said, if you've got a drink, throw that motherf***er. And they were just flying across the sky. People were just throwing them out of like, excitement." He recalled, "It was like fireworks in the sky."

Not Everybody Wants Their Concert To Be a 'Gavin Adcock Concert'

Since they started throwing beer cans, it seemed like Gavin's fans couldn't stop. At some concerts, the beer throwing has even gotten a little out of hand, sometimes hitting Gavin in the face. Not only that, but amidst other performers, it's also earned him a bit of a reputation.

At a recent show of his, country singer Braxton Keith didn't quite have the same reaction as Adcock when some of his own fans started throwing beer cans "This isn't a Godd**n Gavin Adock concert," he told rowdy fans. "I didn't come here to get beer cans thrown at me."

Adcock was quick to respond on social media to this incident, telling Keith that he "should learn how to handle his fans without bringing someone else into it." He also said that he handles those types of situations every day, "without bringing someone else into it."

In response to the "this ain't a Gavin Adcock concert," well, let's just say Gavin agreed with that. On his Instagram a few days after the incident with Keith, he posted a highlight reel. The post featured videos of him and his fans being rowdy with the caption "It sure ain't."

Even though he knows it's not for everyone, at least Adcock is willing to admit he likes his concerts a little rowdier than most. Not everyone wants their concert to be a Gavin Adcock concert, but according to him, maybe not everyone's cut out for it, either.
