Gavin Adcock Trashes Zach Bryan (Again) for Harshly Rebuking Singers Who Don't Write What They Sing

The ongoing feud between country singers Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock has seemingly begun a new, equally blistering chapter. This time, the two artists are arguing about singers who don't write their own songs. Bryan wrote some vehement opinions of his own about this on social media.

The issue of AI edging into the realm of music also crept into the dust-up between the men. As you probably know already, AI has not surprisingly been used to create songs. Most notably, perhaps, is the example of "Walk My Walk" by an AI band called Breaking Rust. Many well-known and respected singers have adamantly decried the use of AI in music.

Bryan Made Some Pointed Remarks

Zach Bryan, 29, jumped into the controversy with both feet. The "Pink Skies" singer apparently feels that it's hypocritical for singers who don't write their own songs to grouse about AI. Per Holler, he wrote these since-removed posts on Instagram. According to the outlet, it looks as if Bryan is shredding "the Nashville country scene, where artists regularly cut songs they haven't written, or release tracks that feature seven-plus songwriters...."

Bryan wrote, "People who don't write their own songs, complaining about A.I. writing songs, is like a guy in finance complaining about farmers switching from plow horses to tractors."

And there was this one, too. "I appreciate true writers, and I do understand the issue with it, but if you're worried about a generic word machine with no emotions or nuance writing better metaphors and being more relatable than you, it should tell you more about yourself than the state of technology."

Adcock Pushed Back

Adcock jumped in as well. Writing on X, the "Perfect Man" singer said, "If all your songs sound the same. You either should be open to writing with other people or you've] been using AI to write your lyrics the whole him [time]."

Some irritated fans answered him. Wrote one. "My man, I dig your music and am looking forward to seeing you on tour next year, but you should probably sit this one out brother." From someone else, "His story was up for 10 minutes, you have his push notifications turned on for every time he posts??" And a third person chimed in with this. "His songs 'sound the same' but still absolutely tank you in streams"
