Known for his rebellious edge, Adcock has tied the incident to his new song and a viral mugshot T-shirt, stirring debate among fans.

Per reports, Tennessee Highway Patrol officers stopped Adcock at 11:15 p.m. on Interstate 40, east of Nashville. They clocked him driving his 1973 Dodge Challenger at 103 mph. Police charged him with reckless driving, an open container violation, improper license plates, and lacking a valid Tennessee license. Other than that, he was golden.

Adcock posted a $1,000 bond and left custody by 4:34 a.m., per Wilson County Sheriff's Office records.

New Song Sparks Speculation

Adcock announced his single "Morning Bail," set for release on May 30. Its lyrics mention a mugshot, drinking, and a cell, prompting some to call the arrest a publicity stunt. On May 28, Adcock clarified on social media. He admitted to pushing his restored Dodge Challenger too hard, hitting 103 mph. He wrote "Morning Bail" months ago for his next album but chose to release it now due to the arrest's timing.

He also debuted a T-shirt with his mugshot, igniting the usual dose of viral online buzz. Fans praise his bold persona, while critics question the arrest's timing. One user labeled it "the stereotype non-country fans expect." Another called Adcock a "hybrid athlete" for his high-energy style.

Court Date and Career Momentum

Authorities reduced Adcock's reckless driving charge to simple speeding, adding citations for registration and license issues. He faces a court date on August 18, but jail time seems unlikely. Adcock previously faced a 2023 arrest for driving with a suspended license. He later joked about bonding with cellmates.

Adcock's career is thriving despite the legal snag. His 2024 debut album racked up 350 million streams, topping country debuts. He performed at the Academy of Country Music Awards and will join a major tour, including a CMA Fest stop in June.
