The legendary George Strait sent a message for a young fan who is fighting for her life.
The King of Country made a special video for Bella, a 10-year-old girl who has a host of medical issues. Bella is from Midland, Texas, and has been fighting for her life ever since she was born. Her conditions include cerebral palsy, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, osteoporosis and intestinal issues.
Bella has had 15 surgeries in her life, and
listens to George Strait before and after each one.
Strait's video message was posted to the Facebook page
Heroes & Cops Against Childhood Cancer, run by Fort Worth police officer Damon Cole.
Cole orchestrated a trip to Disneyland for Bella and her family this week, after doctors gave a grim prognosis: Bella had only three weeks left to live.
Bella and her family were at Disneyland when the video was posted.
"It's taking over all of us. It's taking over my daughter," Bella's grandmother, Janie Velarde said to KWES. "She's very strong but it's caught up to us. You can be strong for so long. I just want y'all to know that Bella is the world to us and we'd do it again if we had to."
Officer Cole had a
message for George Strait afterward.
"George Strait is an amazing man, because he didn't have to do this, and for the fact for him to take time out of his day to actually do this for Bella, it's priceless, I mean, it's amazing and I can't thank him enough from the bottom of my heart for doing this for Bella."
