Guy Fieri Thinks Country Doesn't Celebrate Its Veterans And First Responders As Much It Should

Guy Fieri is speaking out about the nation's veterans, active military members, and first responders. He doesn't think America celebrates these hardworking people as much as they should.

"We should be celebrating our veterans and our active military and our first responders every single day in this country," Fieri told Fox News Digital. "They're unsung heroes."

In particular, Fieri said that they're not given enough attention and credit, especially for all of the sacrifices that they've had. To do his part, Fieri created the Guy Fieri Foundation. Through it's various programs, the chef helps veterans, military members, and first responders get the recognition they deserve.

"I'd love to help causes around the world. ... But I really believe that we need to take care of these folks at home first. And that's what we do," Fieri said. For the celebrity chef, it's personal. His father was in the military during Vietnam. "My dad ... was on submarines during Vietnam. A lot of my family members have served in our country. My foundation, the Guy Fieri Foundation, is all about ... serving those who have served us."

Take one of Fieri's latest endeavors. The celebrity chef's foundation recently went out to help firefighters and other first responders battling the wildfires.

"Ready to serve our first responders yesterday in Malibu," he wrote. Fieri and his foundation served them food."It's go time to serve dinner to our first responders coming off the fire lines @losangelesfiredepartment @calfire in Malibu."

Previously, he also helped out in a similar way during the hurricanes. The foundation prepped meals for first responder workers.

He captioned that post, "Georgia who took care of its community during the recent hurricanes that impacted the city where our new trailer was built by @sdgtrailers We had some volunteer help from our #DDD family @chefpaninipete @dimarionick @sonomacountycatering who prepped and served the meals for the fire, police, and EMS workers. We are proud to continue our mission of #servingthosewhoprotectandserve #givingback #firstresponders #supportnonprofits."

For his upcoming Flavortown Tailgate party for the Super Bowl, Fieri set aside 2,000 tickets for just first responders and military members.

"We made sure that 2,000 of the 10,000 tickets were carved out right off the bat and put aside for them," Fieri said. He also partnered with Carnival Cruise to give cruises away to military members. "They raised their hand. I said, 'OK, you, you, you all get a free cruise.' People lost their minds. People were in tears. And then I said, 'OK, raise your hand if you're a veteran.'"

It's just a drop in a bucket for the celeb.

"We live in the greatest country in the world," Fieri said. "We have the greatest resources in the world. Collective as an energy, we can make anything happen we want to make happen."
