Instead, the pop star paid tribute to her current husband, country singer Blake Shelton, and her father, Dennis Stefani.
"Happy Father's Day Dad and @blakeshelton!! we love u so much," Stefani, 55, captioned the post. The message was paired with photos of Shelton, 48, and Dennis Stefani spending time with her sons: Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10.
Rossdale, who shares all three boys with Stefani, was nowhere to be found, prompting a wave of reactions from fans across social media.
Stefani Post Draws Reactions
"Poor Gavin," one Instagram user wrote under the post.
"Hilarious that every year she never wishes Gavin Rossdale a happy Father's Day," added another.
A third comment read, "Man I wonder what Gavin did to leave your heart so badly. It's sad in a way but glad to see happiness in your life with a person that knew how to value you."
Stefani and Rossdale, 59, were once one of music's marquee couples. They began dating in 1995 and married in 2002. After welcoming three sons together, they announced their split in 2015 amid allegations that Rossdale had an affair with the family nanny.
Soon after their breakup, Stefani began dating Shelton, her fellow coach on NBC's The Voice. Shelton had recently separated from country star Miranda Lambert at the time. He and Stefani got engaged in 2020 and tied the knot the following year.
Rossdale Talks of Co-Parenting
Despite the public fallout, Rossdale has often spoken about his dedication to fatherhood.
"I just feel really proud of myself in my consistency as a father," he said during a March 2024 appearance on the Amy & T.J. podcast. "I know in my heart that I'm super consistent."
Rossdale also revealed that he occasionally crosses paths with Stefani and Shelton at industry events but chooses to remain focused on his children.
In a 2023 interview with The New York Post, the Bush frontman looked back on his marriage with a tone of closure. "We had an amazing time, you know?" Rossdale said. "It's crazy how life works out, and how [there was] all that — and then nothing. It's incredible."
He has described their three sons as "the best gift of life."
