Horseback riding seems awfully intimidating if you don't know what you're doing. It doesn't matter how old you are, something about tumbling off the saddle is deeply frightening. That's not even accounting for the the potential of losing control while riding. Those who know makes it seem like a cake walk but the prospect definitely seems scarier the older you get. But apparently, when you're Harrison Ford, this is a cakewalk. Even at 82 years old, ol' Indiana Jones is fearlessly riding horses like a breeze.

Recently, Ford spoke with PEOPLE to promote season 2 of Taylor Sheridan's 1923. There, he tackles some of the physical aspects involved in the show, like riding horses for environmental accuracy. You might think that he might use a stunt double or they simulate the experience some other way. But the Han Solo actor doesn't sweat it at all, arguing that there's not really much to it. "I think the demands are not really as daunting as they look," Harrison insists.

He continues, pondering where people get this idea that horseback riding might be something that's considered difficult. However, truthfully, he was mostly reflecting on the fact that it's how people lived everyday at the time. "Maybe from a contemporary point of view, the horses represent something — some special skill or danger — but they really are not," Ford explains. "I spent half an hour on a horse, and from a contemporary point of view, you look at that, and say, 'Whoa, people used to do that,' but it really is not that difficult."
Harrison's costar Helen Mirren begs to differ. She just thinks that Ford is being bashful about his natural gifts. "Harrison says that because he's a great rider," she emphasizes. "I was incredibly impressed, I have to say, with watching him gallop off across the Montana hillside."
