Harvey Took Their Stuff, But Couldn't Take These Texans Sense of Humor

Hurricane Harvey will be remembered by much of the nation as one of the worst disasters to hit Texas in decades. It will be remembered by Texans though, as the time when neighbors helped neighbors and there was no such thing as a stranger. During a time when the nation is terribly divided, the best of humanity was shown in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

I lived in Houston during Tropical Storm Allison, and one of the sights that was common afterwards was piles of furniture and carpets at the curb. For months after the flooding ended you could see these piles driving through any neighborhood around Houston or its suburbs.

This time though, Gulf Coast Texans, now somewhat accustomed to flooding, have added in a dose of wry humor. Facebook user Mark Linabury of
