Kid Rock often splits opinion among music fans. He's outspoken and unapologetic about his political views. Yet, if you speak with people who have crossed his path, you hear nothing but good things. By all accounts, Kid Rock is a standup guy.

A recent video from the streamer known as ZPierre509 has now shed more light on why Kid Rock leaves a lasting impression on those he meets. The video takes place at the bar owned by the "Bawitdaba" singer. In the video, Rock can be seen greeting Spencer Cotie, a Paralympic athlete from Australia. Cotie was born with cerebral palsy and communicates via an iPad.
Kid Rock noticed the Paralympian on the main floor of his bar and quickly made his way down to greet the fan. In the video, you can see the star put his arm around Cotie before eventually inviting him up to the VIP floor.
The VIP area of the bar overlooks the main floor and is far less crowded. It's there where Kid Rock was filmed handing Cotie his necklace as a souvenir.
"I grew up listening to you and Hagar," Cotie can be seen writing on an iPad during the interaction, with Hagar referring to Sammy Hagar, the frontman of Van Halen.
Kid Rock Recently Caught Heat for Taking a Pro-AI Stance
If there's one thing Kid Rock knows how to do, it's annoy the vast majority of the population. His comments came via a recent appearance on the "Core Memory" YouTube channel. He was asked about his stance regarding the use of AI in country music. The two hosts played him a song they had created using AI, which Kid Rock labeled as "Average."
However, it was what he said next that split opinion in a way only Kid Rock can.
"I'm not against it. I don't think we need to be unreasonable about something we can't stop," Kid Rock said. "...My attitude personally is, like, if a hundred thousand people want to be out there writing songs with my intellectual property, whatever, my voice — go for it. I hope somebody nails one. If you nail one, I'll give you a piece of it because I get to go sing that live and we make a majority of it live at the gate."
Kid Rock's comments come as AI is taking an increasingly significant foothold in the music industry. Of course, that is something most creatives are firmly opposed to. However, with the world rapidly evolving and AI becoming a core part of daily life, he may just be accepting the new reality. Whatever his stance, it clearly didn't sit well.
Hopefully, his kind-hearted nature can help with the damage control
