Ketchup smoothie. That's it, that's the story. I'll give you a second to throw up at the thought of it. Heinz has partnered with Smoothie King to deliver what may be the worst smoothie ever conceived.

And yet, in practice, there may be a few things going for it.
That's right, in participating Smoothie King locations, you can grab yourself a Heinz ketchup smoothie for $5.70. The frankly audacious drink hit stores yesterday, although I wouldn't be surprised if people still haven't given the product a go.
Now, before I hate on the smoothie I haven't yet tried anymore, there are a couple of things I think I need to bring up that may prompt you into trying the drink.
Firstly, tomato ketchup-flavored chips have existed for a few years now. And honestly? They're real good. I've only ever tried the Walker's ones (they're big here in the U.K.), and I've been trying to find them ever since.
And secondly, isn't ketchup already a smoothie? Much like smoothies, tomato ketchup consists of blended fruit and lots and lots of sugar. So, when you think about it, would a tomato ketchup-flavored smoothie be all too bad?

Naturally, so many people are repulsed by the idea of a tomato ketchup-flavored smoothie. And despite my philosophical musings, so am I.
"That is absolutely FOUL," wrote one under the Instagram announcement.
"So a frozen Bloody Mary. Got it," joked another. And they honestly might not be so far off flavor-wise.
Some people got real cosmological about this product entering our lives.
"Everyday we stray further from gods light," muttered one.
"I fear these are the end times," prophesized a second.
Another simply threatened that they want "everyone involved in handcuffs."
To my surprise, many more folks than I imagined are enthralled by the idea. One who had the bravery to try the drink mentioned a sweet berry flavor with a tangy aftertaste. So maybe it's not all bad.
