Here's What's Next For Axed ABC Reporter

Terry Moran already has a brand new gig. The longtime ABC News senior national correspondent was fired only days ago. He had posted comments on social media about President Donald Trump and Stephen Miller, one of Trump's high-ranking aides, that were construed by some as harshly opinionated and negative. Thus he was first suspended, then let go by the network, which indicated that he violated its policies. But Moran, 65, wasn't pounding the pavement for long looking for a new job. Per popculture.com, he "has joined subscription-based newsletter platform Substack."

Terry Moran Announced His New Role At Substack In A Video Message

Per the outlet via the video, Moran said, "Hello everyone. I'm Terry Moran, and for almost 28 years I was a reporter and anchor for ABC News. As you may have heard, I'm not there anymore. I'm here, with you on Substack, this amazing space, and I can't wait to get at it. To get at the important work that we all have to do in this time of such trouble for our country."

Moran continued that he plans to "be reporting and interviewing and just sharing with you, and hoping to hear from you as well." According to the outlet, he explained that "it may 'be a few days' or 'maybe a little bit longer' since he has 'to get some stuff sorted out but can't wait to see you.'"

What Caused ABC News To Show Moran To The Door

Posting on X recently, Moran referred to Trump and Miller as "world-class hater[s]," per the outlet. A firestorm of controversy ensued. Some of the backlash came from Vice President J.D. Vane and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

The network first suspended Moran. then said his contract, which was scheduled to expire soon, would not be renewed. ABC News called Moran's since-deleted post "a clear violation of ABC News polices...."

He worked there since 1997.

Ironically, Moran interviewed Trump at the White House just weeks ago.
