This is what dreams are made of, at least that's how it looks. Hilary Duff was glowing in photos that she shared of her and her family the other day. This Disney star is now a mother of four and is sharing her parenting tactics across the internet. While it is typically nothing but love, the star recently received a little bit of backlash. The offense — feeding her 7-month old steak.

Hilary Duff Challenges The Norm By Feeding 7-Month Old Steak

Every parent I know that has multiple kids tells me the same thing, each one of them is different. I am not talking about just a difference in personality here. I mean that sometimes you need an entirely different parenting method for each kid. Hilary Duff seems to be going through that with her youngest daughter, Townes.
While Duff described her latest child as "a really good baby" she has been challenging her with her food preferences. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Duff opened up about how having a fourth child has changed her parenting tactics.
Speaking of Townes she told them, "She just is the chillest one," Then she continued, "I don't know if it took me having four kids to get a chill one, or if I'm more chill. I can't figure out which one it is, but she just goes along for the ride."
Hilary Duff did appear to be at ease when she posted a story of herself feeding Townes a juicy piece of steak on her Instagram story. Over the video Duff wrote, "Starting with steak on the 4th child, purées ain't doing it for her." The star also joked that "If you're vegan maybe skip this story today!"
Why This Caused Backlash

Many people warned of choking hazards and thought feeding a 7-month old steak was too risky. Hilary Duff admitted to PEOPLE that this piece of steak would not be the first choking hazard Townes had dealt with.
She shared a story about visiting a friend who happened to be a chef. While the family was there, little Townes decided to put "a big glob of gourmet quiche in her mouth." Doing so caused her to start "choking a little bit." Putting her new chill mom hat on, Duff decided not to freak out. Instead she watched Townes to see if she needed assistance. She told PEOPLE, "and now I'm waiting, waiting, 'Oh good, you worked it out.' "
While choking hazards are a real threat to babies, experts argue that you can begin giving your child solid foods around 6 months of age. Meaning that little Townes is right on track to be diving into the world of solids. Furthermore, they argue that you can serve steak as a solid food to babies, you just need to take a few extra precautions.
If you want to serve steak to your child keep the following things in mind:
- They should be at least six months old
- It should be full cooked, with an internal temperature of at least 145°F
- If your baby doesn't have teeth serve it in thick strips at least 2 inches thick
- You can also serve it shredded (avoid serving cubed, chopped, or bite-sized pieces)
