Brandon Blackstock, a highly respected talent manager who managed artists like Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and Rascal Flatts, passed away on Thursday, August 7, after battling cancer. Celebrities like Kelly Clarkson, who was married to Blackstock from 2013 to 2020, have spoken out about the death, saying she was taking time off to be present with family. However, no one has shared quite as touching a tribute as Blackstock's son, Seth Blackstock. On Instagram, the talent manager's eldest son shared a slideshow of photos, which he captioned with a tribute to his father.

"I lost my hero yesterday. Words can't describe how proud I am of you for raising me and your three other kids. You were a father, a son, a brother, and most importantly, my best friend. You'll have to watch me grow up from a birds-eye view, but that's ok with me."
The photos show Seth growing up, with his father by his side. The two enjoyed activities like horseback riding, fishing, and hunting together, as Seth mentions in his post.
"I can confidently say all the deer and elf took a sigh of relief when the best hunter I've ever known laid his rifle down for the last time. I love you so much and can't wait to throw a line in the water with you again."

Seth Blackstock is a product of the marriage between Blackstock's first wife, Melissa Ashworth, and his older sister, Savannah. The 18-year-old also has two half-siblings from his father's second marriage, River Rose and Remi Alexander. They are a product of Clarkson's marriage to Blackstock, whom she divorced from in 2020 due to "irreconcilable differences."
Despite the past, Clarkson has been quick to show support for her ex-husband and their children during this time. A few days before his death, the singer posted an update on social media to announce the cancellation of several of her shows. "Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August studio session dates in Los Angeles. While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them." Clarkson had also cancelled past episodes of The Kelly Clarkson Show to be with her children during Brandon's illness.
We hope that the family, who asked for privacy during this time, can grieve and process following the death of Brandon, who, to Seth, was a father, but also a best friend. As he shares in his post, "There's no one else on this earth that I would want to be my dad because no one can be half the man you were to me. I'll see you every day when the sun rises and falls."
