Last year, the "One Too Many" hitmaker visited Taste of Country, where he was asked about his best and worst days as a musician. The bad memory that came to mind, however, left him blushing with embarrassment.

When Keith Urban was getting started as an artist and doing his radio tour, he had to go around to the stations and introduce himself.

"It can be quite grueling, because no one knows who you are, no one cares who you are," he started.

In one of his stops, he was instructed by the manager to enter a conference room with his acoustic guitar. However, when he arrived at the conference room, he noticed that a meeting was already in progress. So, as anyone would, he went back to the manager to tell him, intent on waiting for the meeting to end.

The station manager replied with, "Oh, you're good, just just slip in there quietly and get your guitar out and it'll be all cool."

So that's what he did.

Keith Urban Interrupted A Meeting And It Didn't Go Well

Keith Urban slipped in, shifted to the corner of the room, and began unpacking his guitar. Which is when one of the eight people in the meeting finally addressed him.

"Uhh, can we help you? Hello?" he said directly. "We're having a meeting here."

"I went red," he recalled, "just so embarrassing."

Wanting to melt into the floor, he exited the conference room and tried to leave the station behind. " I was so humiliated," he continued. "Right at that point, I'm like, 'Let's get the hell out of here.'"

The manager insisted, however, so he went in himself and introduced Keith Urban to the room. They weren't all pleased to be interrupted again, but begrudgingly listened to Keith Urban play a few songs.

"This is going to be my audience that I'm going to play to," he remembered thinking. "I have to set my guitar up and play to these exact people sitting [with] their arms crossed just sort of huffing and puffing."

Not the desired audience, but in his position, it's all he was going to get.
