In True Gunslinger Fashion, NFL Quarterback Rocks George Strait Shirt and Boots After First Career Start

Though the Miami Dolphins couldn't score a win against the Cincinnati Bengals, starting QB Quinn Ewers won the press conference fashion show.

Every week, it seems like NFL players try to outdo each other with their pregame outfits.

Last season, DK Metcalf, then with the Seattle Seahawks, came to the stadium wearing pants with hundreds of Beanie Babies attached. Not to be outdone, Mack Hollis, who was on the Buffalo Bills' roster in 2024, arrived at the stadium dressed like a mad scientist. These eye-catching ensembles set the bar for unusual pregame fashion statements.

We won't even get started on the fashion choices made by Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce or Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow. These two seem to make bolder style choices every week.

While these stars thumb through fashion magazines instead of a playbook, it's nice to know that there are some players out there who aren't chasing trends. Enter Quinn Ewers, whose post-game outfit after the quarterback made his NFL debut with the Miami Dolphins yesterday offered a refreshing contrast.

What Did Quinn Ewers Wear?

As you may know, Ewers is from the Lone Star State. Born in San Antonio, his family eventually moved to Southlake, Texas. He became a star on the Southlake Carroll High School football team. From there, he would go on to play at the University of Texas during his college career.

There was no mistaking Ewers' origins when the gunslinger stepped up behind the podium during the postgame press conference. Wearing a cap, a vintage George Strait T-shirt, and a well-worn pair of stonewashed jeans, Ewers' outfit proudly reflected his Texas roots. His pair of boots was a nice touch.

Let's face it: the gunslinger looked like he should be on the set of Landman instead of addressing the media.

How Did Ewers Do in His Debut?

The former Longhorn had a performance that sportswriters like to refer to as "solid." He threw over 260 yards, completing 20 of 30 passes. However, he did not throw one in the end zone.

Ewers also threw two interceptions in the second half, contributing to the Dolphins' loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The final score was 45-21.

The fact that Ewers went against what many perceive to be the best-dressed QB in the league was not lost on us. In the battle for style, we firmly believe that Ewers won hands down.
