Today, the 30th, is both Willie Nelson's birthday and a day too late, depending on who you ask.

Willie Nelson, born in 1933, turned 92 today and yesterday. The nearly centennial country legend celebrates both days due to a confusion he didn't have corrected until he was 18. For the first part of his life, he fully believed he had been born on the 29th of April.
However, when Willie Nelson signed up for the Air Force, they pulled up his birth certificate and informed him his birthday was the 30th. This caused some confusion until his cousin clarified. "I was born before midnight on the 29th, but it didn't get registered in the county courthouse until the next day, the 30th," Willie Nelson told SiriusXM radio show. "So, it went out officially as the 30th. So I just do both days."
Of course, his family will celebrate his actual birthday, but the military recognised Willie Nelson's official one. So, as a result, he just decided to celebrate them both. Why not have two big days rather than one?
Willie Nelson's Cousin Reassures Him Of Birthday
If there was ever any doubt about Willie Nelson's official birthday, his cousin Mildred was there to put it right. It was she, that at the age of 13, took him to be registered on the 30th. This was the day after the actual birth which was midnight of the 29th. She was also the one who named him. She gave him the name Hugh as a sign of respect for her dead brother.
He didn't have the smoothest start to life as a boy. It began with a delayed registry resulting in a double birthday and got more complex from there. His mother wasn't interesting in bringing him up. She left not too long after his birth. His father also shirked his responsibilities and remarried and left him and his sister Bobby.
Willie Nelson and his sister celebrated many more birthdays together with their grandparents. Bobbie, his sister, also lived to be a ripe old age. She didn't pass away until 2022 at 91-years-old.
This year marks Willie Nelson's 92nd birthday, and we all hope to see many more. It's not that long until 100. Happy Birthday Willie Nelson.
