Jackson Dean Takes Lessons He Learned From Lainey Wilson Into His Overseas Tour

Jackson Dean earned a coveted spot last year on Lainey Wilson's Country's Cool Again Tour. The rising star took plenty of notes while opening for Wilson, notes he is putting to good use as he gets ready to head out on his own On The Back Of My Dreams Tour, which includes several overseas dates.

"She made me know that ain't nobody else could be her, and that's infectious," Dean tells Country Now. "I don't know of anybody else that can go and do an hour and 30 [minutes] like that and move as much as she does, and not to mention all the stuff that she does with the kids, which is just amazing."

Dean doesn't need to worry about being well-received overseas. The Maryland native has already performed in Europe before, and was blown away by his massive reception.

"We're very, very excited," Dean gushes. "We're going to some places I can't pronounce, and all my men are really excited. They love it over there. The last time I was there, I hopped on stage at the O2 in London with Carly Pearce. I walked out of the shadows and I mean, I had my ears in ... and they were so loud that I lost all the music in my ears. It was just them for like nine seconds as I walked out of the back. It was wild. They love us over there and I love them very much."

"Heavens to Betsy"

Dean currently has a Top 30 song with "Heavens to Betsy." The song, arguably one of the most significant of his career, is from his latest On the Back of My Dreams album, released last September.

"I was at a show one time, and I can't remember where it was," Dean recalls. "But I had this guy come up to me, and he grabs me by the shoulder. I was like, 'Hey man, what's up?' And he goes, 'There's a couple of your songs that changed my life, man. I thought about ending it and you pulled me back from the dark.' That was the first time I was like, 'Wow.' And then it happened again, and then again. And I was like, 'Alright, I guess I'm doing something right.'"
