Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany, were not in attendance at the 2025 CMA Awards on Wednesday, Nov. 19. And while they weren't the only stars to snub the Awards, Brittany's reasoning behind their absence has certainly created a stir.

Earlier in the day, Brittany had begun uploading pictures from the Aldeans' trip to Miami to her Instagram account. With time to spare, she decided to open up a Q&A for her fans. Once it was apparent that Brittany and Jason weren't in attendance at the CMA Awards, one fan asked why they had chosen to avoid the event.
"Not much love from that one," Brittany responded.
In fairness, Brittany is telling the truth. Despite Jason's wild success over the past two decades, he's rarely featured among the winners at the CMA Awards. In fact, he only has two in total. He previously won Album of the Year for "My Kinda Party" and Musical Event of the Year for "The Only Way I Know."
Since hitting the scene, Aldean has amassed 30 #1 hits and has sold over 51 million units in the US. He's also a significant hit on streaming platforms, drawing more than 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify. His resume screams "superstar," yet the CMA awards continue to treat him like an afterthought.
Jason Aldean Recently Took Aim at AI-Generated Music
Wednesday wasn't the first time Jason had hit the headlines this week. The "You Make It Easy" singer recently spoke out about the impact AI-generated music is having on the industry. His comments came after Breaking Rust hit number one on the Billboard charts with "Walk My Walk." Breaking Rust is an AI-generated band, and its current success is generating significant controversy.
Jason shared his thoughts on the use of AI music during a recent post to social media.
"An AI artist might have the #1 country song right now, but AI can't play a live show," Aldean wrote in the on-screen caption.
AI generally splits people into one of two crowds. You either love it, and believe it's making the world a better place. Or, you hate it and fear the impact he will have on creativity and the arts industry in general. Clearly, Aldean falls into the latter.
Still, his comments sparked debate, which is always healthy when discussing a new form of technology. Nevertheless, his absence from the CMA Awards will undoubtedly be bigger news. And now that he's missed this one, there's a good chance he decides to stay away in the years to come, just like Morgan Wallen appears to have.
