Jessica Simpson Hits Stage 15 Years Later, The Reviews Were So Bad She Probably Wished She Hadn’t

Jessica Simpson came out of the shadows to perform live as a surprise appearance, and people are not happy at all with her performance.

The "With You" singer entered the stage on Willie Nelson's Luck Reunion, just outside of Austin, Texas. There, she performed some covers, such as "Son of a Preacher Man" and "These Boots Are Made For Walkin."

It has been 15 years since Jessica Simpson last hit the stage. This is a long time to step out of the limelight. During those years, she would have grown and changed. It would be ludicrous to expect her to sound the same as she did when she was in her prime, but, this is still pretty bad.

Since she stepped down as a pop artist many years ago, she's been focused on raising her kids and running her show business. So at least she has that to fall back on should she want to delve back into the music scene full-force.

You can watch her performance of "These Boots Are Made For Walkin" below. I personally think her performance of "Son of a Preacher Man" is a little better, truth be told. But she got rinsed for that one, too.

Internet Reacts To First Jessica Simpson Performance In Over A Decade

Folks of the internet everywhere all rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts on Jessica Simpson's performances.

"She and Shania twain should go on tour together... ugh," resigned one, referencing Shania Twain's last... performance.

"It's the clothes for me, she could be a bit more classy," scolded another.

"Her first time on stage in 15 years, give her a break," defended one. Although I do agree that some slack could be given, I couldn't help the slight cringing. It's a natural response.

"Zero words. Because if I had them, they wouldn't be good. Lol," another commented.

"She's having a good time why beat up on her? ESP from folks who couldn't do any better," some else said, standing up for the singer.

"No offense but... most likely me at 12AM thinking I'm singing like Carrie Underwood," mocked one more.

Although some came to her defence, most found the performance sub-par and embarrassing for her. Ultimately, though, she's the millionaire who's apparently having the time of her life. So there's that, I suppose.
