Singer Jessie J has had a tough time with breast cancer. She was found to have the condition almost a year ago and underwent a mastectomy. Jessie J (her name is actually Jessica Ellen Cornish) has shared many aspects of her cancer journey with her fans, who have been loyal and supportive all the way. This time, Jessie J had some wonderful, uplifting news to broadcast to the public. The singer,38, joyfully confided on Instagram on Thursday, May 21 that she is now cancer free!

The Singer Had a Checkup Recently
In the accompanying video, she is seen in what looks lie a medical office, wearing a hospital-type gown and clutching a pillow. Jessie J looks understandably jittery. She says she is there for her annual checkup. "So I'm back for my yearly checkup. I'm actually s---ting myself, I'm not gonna lie. They told me there was no contrast but I think there is based on this. Gotta go in for my MRI. Pretend I'm not claustrophobic."
She went on, "If you haven't had a breast MRI, you have to lay on your front and put your arms in the air like superman. I might have to have a bigger bucket this time for these big old b---- but fingers crossed all good, all good."
Things turned out well. Her post is gleefully captioned, "??RESULTS ARE IN AND I AM CANCER FREE I sobbed for hours and then exhaled for the first time in a year"

She Has Been Very Upfront About Her Health Situation All Along
Jessie J talked about her diagnosis on Instagram in June 2025. While not wanting to alarm anyone, she was nevertheless totally frank about her challenging circumstances. She was brave, honest, and utterly relatable. You could not help but admire her and feel for her as well.
Jessie J wrote in part at that time, "No (more) Secrets and is it too soon to do a remix called 'Living my breast life'? All jokes aside (You know it's one of the ways I get through hard times) This last 2 months have been so amazing, and having this go on along side it on the sideline's has given me the most incredible perspective. BUT... Your girl needs a hug...."
