Joe Keery, known for his role in Stranger Things, was spotted back in character at a friend's wedding this week. The show is set to conclude its fifth and final season later this year, with Volume 1 of the new season scheduled to arrive on the streaming service on November 26. Volume 2 will debut on December 25.

In a video trending on Twitter, Keery is seen sporting a classic outfit from Season 3 of the series. In front of him is a happy couple, Veronica Capaldi and Matt Williams, who are friends of Keery's.
The actor seems to be officiating the wedding dressed as Steve Harrington, much to the amusement of the crowd. "And by the power invested in me, by the state of California, yesterday," Keery says, "I now pronounce you husband and wife." It seems like his officiating was a last-minute decision, but we're here for the impromptu costume change.
Joe Keery Is Being 100% Himself With The Crux
The cast of Stranger Things has quite literally grown up together, since starting filming back in November of 2015. In an interview, Keery admitted that he was pleased with the way things concluded for Steve after ten years. "It was a long shoot, lots of work, lots of waiting, lots of action stuff, and a lot of endings... But it ended perfectly for me. I was extremely satisfied," he told The Independent.
When not on set, Joe has been sitting in the aftermath of TikTok virality with his artist project Djo. After six years of making music, Keery went viral for the song "End of Beginning" in early 2024. Little do fans know, Djo was actually meant to be a way for Joe to separate himself from Steve Harrington. He shared in an interview, "I didn't really want to capitalize on my name as an actor, and I wanted to dissociate Steve from Stranger Things from the music." Up until his most recent project, The Crux came out, Keery admitted that Djo was meant to be a disguise for him, as he would often perform in a shaggy wig and sunglasses.
Keery said of his most recent album, which he's currently on tour for, that it's an opportunity for him to embrace the new. "The purpose of The Crux was to be as authentically open and 'me' as I could be. And it felt like it was maybe a little counterproductive to have the wig going on simultaneously. It served its purpose, and now it's time for something new."
As of this week, it seems like Keery is striking a perfect balance between embracing authenticity, and giving Steve Harrington his moment as well.
