While filming a new film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, John Goodman, known for his roles in The Big Lebowsky, The Flintstones, and 10 Cloverfield Lane, sustained a hip injury on set. Goodman's injury prompted the film's shooting to stop while Goodman recovers. Fortunately, it appears that the injury was not serious.

A Warner Bros Pictures spokesperson spoke with Deadline and confirmed Goodman's injury.
"Actor John Goodman experienced a hip injury," the spokesperson told the outlet. "He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover. The production resumes shooting next week following John's full recovery."
According to the outlet, the injury took place while he was filming a scene at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom. Goodman reportedly slipped during filming, and, according to sources, the 72-year-old actor only suffered a "minor injury." Goodman's injury caused put a pause on the filming for two whole days. It is expected that John Goodman will be back in action fully on Monday, March 10.

The film, directed and produced by González Iñárritu, is his first English-language film since he directed, wrote, and produced The Revenant. González Iñárritu co-wrote this newest film alongside Nicolas Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris, and Sabina Berman. Giacobone and Dinelaris previously co-wrote Birdman alongside González Inárritu, who also directed the film.
As per Deadline, González Iñárritu's newest film stars, besides John Goodman, Tom Cruise, Riz Ahmed, Sandra Hüller, Jesse Plemons, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Sophie Wilde. The film is expected to be released in 2026, as per IMDb. Its synopsis reads: "The most powerful man in the world causes a disaster and embarks on a mission to prove that he is the savior of humanity."
While it appears that John Goodman only sustained a minor injury, he has recently suffered incredible loss. His home in the Pacific Palisades burned down during the Los Angeles wildfires. The $4.6 million home was reduced to ashes and rubble, as photos taken on January 8, as per PEOPLE, show. Other Hollywood stars suffered the same fate, including Milles Teller, Paris Hilton, Eugene Levy, Billy Crystal, and Mandy Moore, among others.
