John Stamos Gives Reason For Mar-A-Lago Appearance After Backlash
In defense of his appearance and participation in the Palm Beach Ray of Hope Gala, the Full House star gave reasons for attending on Instagram Stories on April 7. "I accepted the invitation to emcee the Palm Beach Ray of Hope Gala—an evening dedicated to honoring and uplifting our frontline heroes," said Stamos.
"This nonpartisan even supports The Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations." Stamos then mentioned how the organization "trains 350-400 nurses every year." This is in an effort to address "the critical shortage of healthcare professional in Palm Beach County."

Stamos claimed that people shouldn't see this as a political issue, as he even encouraged his followers to donate. "Supporting nurses isn't political - it's essential," he continued. "My values and political views remain unchanged and if you don't donate to Palm Beach Ray of Hope, then please consider donating to Democracy Forward."
The actor uplifted healthcare workers even further. "These are the people who care for us and our families when we need it most, and I believe we should show up for them with the same unwavering dedication they show up with every single day."
Stamos' defensive post comes after netizens flamed him online for appearing at Trump's resort. "Nope @JohnStamos," one user on X wrote. "You could have picked another venue. How embarrassing."
Another post said, "John Stamos just ruined his brand forever. You can't visit Mar-a-Lago and then expect the stink to ever leave you."
Some users have come out to defend Stamos and instead are pointing fingers to the fundraiser's planners. "Can we blame whoever booked the fundraiser at Mar A Lago for supporting Trump instead of John Stamos for supporting frontline workers?" One post wrote. "The guy made the choice not to politicize supporting a charity and ended up getting torn down in the process."
Despite Stamos' good-faith reasoning behind his attendance at this nonprofit event, politics are at a boiling point right now. With Trump's recent controversial worldwide tariffs, it's no wonder that fans of this celebrity are disappointed.
