Johnny Cash's Former Memphis Home Hits The Market For a Surprisingly Reasonable Price

You would think some celebrity real estate would go for a pretty steep price. Lord knows how many people would love to cosplay as their favorite artist or actor. Maybe someone will bring about the big bucks because of their penchant for history too. Or perhaps it's just a simple flex from a rich person to acquire something like that. Regardless, you usually have to be financially firm to acquire a house, let alone a celebrity's former home. However, for Johnny Cash fans out there, you can scoop his house up off the market and it won't massacre your future like you might expect.

Recently, Zillow lists the Man in Black's old house in Memphis, Tennessee for sale at $495,000. It's a simple, cozy one-story home with three bedrooms and three bathrooms to match. Originally built in 1959, the home obviously underwent some renovations to keep the house from falling apart. Consequently, there's not much word on how original they kept the inside comparatively speaking from when Johnny was living there. However, given the market and all, that's a pretty sweet price point all things considered.

Johnny Cash's Old House in Memphis Goes Up for Sale With New Renovations

Obviously, the big selling point is going to be the fact that you can theoretically 'walk the line' as Cash did. Pablo Pereyra, who lists the home on Zillow in the first place, takes advantage in marketing the home as a piece of history and a future home.

"Walk the line to your new home—Johnny Cash's iconic place is now up for grabs! This Piece of Memphis' History has been masterfully renovated with a NEW Roof, NEW Appliances, NEW Luxury Bathrooms (3), NEW Water Heater, NEW Granite Countertops, NEWLY refinished Hardwoods Floors, NEW driveway and sidewalk (did we mention is all new?!). SPACIOUS, and rather massive, 33x15ft primary bedrooms," they write.

All in one Level, with a bonus room. Conveniently located in cove entrance immediately of I-240 Exit. Don't just visit the past—own it, with Johnny Cash's former home," they conclude.
