Kacey Musgraves and Willie Nelson will share the stage during the 2019 CMA Awards. It's a special performance for a few reasons. It's a collaboration between a country legend and one of the genre's most celebrated singer-songwriters. It also marks the first time Nelson has performed on the CMAs since 2012. But, for Musgraves, the performance is also a full circle moment.

The two Texans, who previously collaborated on "Are You Sure" from Musgraves' 2015 album Pageant Material, will perform "Rainbow Connection" at the 53rd annual CMA Awards. As shown during Good Morning America's exclusive announcement of the collaboration, Musgraves has a history with the song. GMA co-anchor Lara Spencer introduced a video of Musgraves performing "Rainbow Connection" at 9 years old.
