After losing 100lbs, Kathy Bates has sparked discussions online about her appearance, and her health.

Bates, the star of Misery, Harry's Law, and much more was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes back in 2017. This, for her, was a wake-up call. It was time to make a lifestyle change or become dangerously ill. Since then, Kathy Bates has taken her health seriously and made serious steps towards a better lifestyle.

She has spoken about her weight loss journey, losing 100lbs with healthier eating, exercise, and of course, the new fad drug: Ozempic. Despite her apparent joy at losing a lot of weight, and getting into much better health, people are concerned for Kathy Bates.

Her appearance at the Golden Globes shocked people. She has a whole new look, and rather than healthy, she looks frail.

Has Kathy Bates Taken Her Health Push Too Far?

Many spoke out online about Kathy Bates with concern for the 76-year-old's health. "Oh she took the substance too," one commenter adds. This, of course, is in reference to the 2024 film in which people take a drug that splits the life of a person. One is beautiful, slim, and young, but feeds on the beauty of the other.

Another commenter mentions that the weight loss Kathy Bates has achieved doesn't look like she is in good health. "It looks like she has cancer," they mention. However, these people are in the minority. Honestly, after her Golden Globe appearance, most people are showering praise on her weight loss journey.

Losing as much weight as she has, over only seven years, is no easy feat at any age let alone 76. She may have used Ozempic to a point, but as she revealed in an interview with People that it was mainly due to lifestyle changes and hard work.

The crowds are, on the whole, in celebration of Kathy Bates's new-found health. "An icon. a legend, stunning straight stunning. We love you, Kathy." one commenter posts. "I'm in love with whoever did her hair today SHE'S LOOKING STUNNING," another praises.

Despite using Ozempic, Kathy Bates has mostly taken her weight loss journey into her own hands. She has persevered and pulled herself back from an unhealthy weight with determination. She's looking great for it too. Let's hope we see her starring in a few more roles in the coming years she has gifted herself.
