The documentary showed images of the young girl before her murder. It was her striking similarity to Katy Perry that got people talking. Maybe she was never murdered, maybe she just disappeared and reappeared as a pop star.
Originally, it was believed that JonBenét Ramsey was murdered in her home. It was believed that she was killed in the basement of her family home in Boulder. However, although her body was found, along with DNA, no murderer has ever been found.
Her father is still hopeful that the murderer will be found, all these years later. But, since the Netflix documentary, there have been some wild theories flying around. Some fans have said that JonBenét Ramsey is the spitting image of young Katy Perry.
Katy Perry Addresses JonBenét Ramsey Rumours

She is also clearly questioning her heritage as much as the rest. However, despite the visual similarities, there are a couple of issues with the whole thing. First and foremost, Katy Perry knows her parents and loves them very much. Next is the fact that she is five years older than the murdered girl.
The investigation into the death of JonBenét Ramsey is still ongoing even with the Katy Perry theory circulating. Her father believes that with modern technology the killer is more likely to be found. The police have a profile of the killer, saying he was probably around 20 to 30 at the time. He is also said to probably be a huge fan of movies.
After the release of the Netflix documentary one woman even called in, blaming the death on her husband.
