Usually, this wouldn't be much of a big deal, but there wasn't much word on why. Some reports suggested it was over some drama behind the scenes with her ex-husband.

However, other reports suggest some trouble in paradise, that Kelly Clarkson skipped out on episodes because she was fed up with the show. Over time, the absences kept piling up, and something seemed generally off. Though the details remain unclear, it's worth noting that she's in a contract year. Maybe she's disgruntled that she hasn't secured a new deal yet. Regardless, reports also tell that the show is on the brink of collapse due to low morale among the staff.

Recently, the Daily Mail reports that the staff on Clarkson's show are so fed up with the current circumstances, they might take their ball and go home. "Not feeling too stable," an anonymous producer says. "She could bolt at any time. Where does that leave me?"
Additionally, one person on staff doesn't like how everything is in flux about whether or not Kelly is on board. "Stressed is an understatement. No one likes the uncertainty. This feels like it could collapse any minute," they explain. Then, the producer adds, "Everyone loves Kelly. She's a wonderful person. But maybe Hoda [Kotb] would be a better boss. I know she's universally beloved and respected by her former coworkers. Maybe she would be good. She sure would be a lot more stable than what we've been going through."
