That distinction went to Bublé's teammate, Adam David. Ballerini did come in second, with Jaelen Johnston on her team.
The "Baggage" singer says that being part of The Voice was a dream come true, with or without a win.
"I'll be honest. I wanted to be a coach on The Voice for a long time, since I filled in for Kelly [Clarkson] a couple of years ago," Ballerini says in a clip she shared on TikTok. "And when I actually got the opportunity, I was terrified. So scared, because I really had this dialogue with myself of like, 'What if I don't have enough to contribute to these newer artists, compared to these other coaches that are legends that have been on this show?'"
How Kelsea Ballerini Got Her Role On 'The Voice'
Ballerini admits she championed herself to be on The Voice after Reba McEntire announced she wasn't returning for this season.
"I was conspiring for years. ... The producers came to Nashville," Ballerini tells Extra TV. "This was, I think, two years ago, and they were interviewing several country artists. That's all I knew, and it was after Blake had retired. And so I was like, 'I know the seat's open. I really want it.' So we had this dinner, and we're talking about things coming up, all this stuff.
"And I just leaned across the table at the end," she continues. "And I'm like, 'Listen, I don't know who else you're talking to, and I'm sure you're talking to legends and people who have way more hits and stuff than I do, but I really want this. And I can do it. I know I can do it. If you trust me, I promise I'll do a good job.'"
McEntire will be returning for Season 28, along with Bublé, Snoop Dogg, and Niall Horan.
