The Grand Ole Opry is one of country music's most special venues. While people come for the tunes, this past weekend, we were reminded what the spirit of country is really about. This Sunday, Kelsea Ballerini partnered with St. Jude Children's Hospital at the Opry, but she wasn't the only person giving it her all on stage.

After inviting the crowd to "start unpacking" with her, Ballerini jumped into songs like "Peter Pan" and "Baggage." She even brought back old hits like "hole in the bottle" from her third studio album, Kelsea. Although getting to hear music from different eras of her career was certainly a highlight, nothing could have topped this perfect moment captured by fans via TikTok.
While performing "If You Go Down (I'm Going Down Too)", Ballerini brought up two St. Jude's patients to accompany her. During a dance break, the singer asked the audience to cheer the loudest they could for her background dancers. "Alright if you know this song, I need this to be the loudest part of our whole night for our girls up here."
Located in Memphis, TN, St. Jude's Children's Hospital aims to find cures for childhood cancer. The Opry has been known to host shows like to help fund the efforts of St. Jude's for years. The one this weekend featured performances from Ballerini, but also other acts like Ty Herndon and Mitchell Tenpenny. Since partnering with programs like Country Cares for St. Jude, the venue has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for the cause.
What Has Kelsea Ballerini Been up To?
Just a few weeks ago, Kelsea Ballerini did her first public performance since her break up with long time boyfriend, Chase Stokes. At an intimate concert at the Rivera Theatre in Chicago, Ballerini sang her heart out. Fans heard songs like "We Broke Up" and "Patterns", and there was definitely something magical about it. Breakup or not, Ballerini gave the show her all, and fans were here for it.
Ballerini even gave a little insight into how she's been feeling, topping off a difficult week with humor and grace. After spilling a little bit of her water on stage, Ballerini got candid. "I want to be very honest and tell you — I just spilled my water. Is it on me?" She commented on her life lately, saying that it was "the one thing that's gone right in so long."
It's uncertain right now what to expect from Ballerini, but hopefully all these shows mean that new music is coming. For now, fans can get tickets to Ballerini's upcoming shows in Australia and stay updated at www.kelseaballerini.com.
