Kenny Chesney and Dierks Bentley Performing at ESPN's 'College GameDay' in Music City

Vanderbilt fans are in for a treat with performances from Dierks Bentley and Kenny Chesney for Music City's College GameDay.

This weekend, ESPN announced that Kenny Chesney and Dierks Bentley are going to be bringing College GameDay to Nashville. Aside from a weekly special guest, the show often features performances from artists like Darius Rucker and Lainey Wilson. Chesney and Bentley have both appeared as guest pickers or performance guests on the show before. Now, for the first time together, the two performers are going to be putting on a show for College GameDay on Saturday, October 25th.

It's been a long time since Nashville, TN, has been the host of College GameDay - give or take seventeen years, in fact. In 2008, the Vanderbilt Commodores played the Auburn Tigers and won 14-13, as Dierks Bentley predicted at the time. Bentley was the celebrity guest picker for that weekend. This particular moment was significant because Bentley was not only correct in three out of four of his picks for the weekend, but it also kicked off a great season for the Commodores, who'd had to endure 25 years of losses up to that point.

In a way, the win was historic for Vanderbilt fans, who were finally able to live up to their "Geeks Will Inherit the Earth" signage.

Vanderbilt Is Having Their Best Season Start in 75 Years

This year's college football season has been off to a surprising start, with Texas A&M and the Indiana Hoosiers filling the No. 2 and No. 3 spots in the Top 10. Ohio State predictably holds the No. 1 spot.

Vanderbilt is currently having their best start to a season since 1950, with a current record of 6-1 overall and a ranking of No. 10 in the AP poll. Their recent wins are giving fans something to be excited about besides their renowned academic programs.

Graduate student Dylan O'Brien expressed the feelings of several students to the Vanderbilt Hustler. "It couldn't be better," O'Brien said. "We're on the biggest stage once again, not only for academics but athletics, too. It will only get better on the way up."

Fans can watch the Vanderbilt vs. Missouri game on ESPN tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
