Kenny Chesney is a world-class performer. Heck, the man doesn't have eight Entertainer of the Year Awards for nothing. So, if Chesney says something needs to be changed about a performance, you'd be silly not to take his advice. In an interview, the "American Kids" singer revealed he's making adjustments to his shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas. He explained that he wants them to look different from the shows he plays on tour. "We have to change it some. Half the show's probably gonna be completely different, and we're gonna change some of it that was not, you know, there's some songs that we haven't done in a while that we're gonna do," Chesney said.

He compared his performances at the venue to a circus, saying he doesn't want his audience to get bored year after year. "Probably at least half the show is gonna be completely different because I wouldn't want to go to the Sphere one year and then come back the next year and see the same thing. It's like, 'Oh, well, I went to the circus last year and they did the same thing this year,'" said Chesney.
The country artist recently did his first run of shows in Vegas in the spring and summer of 2025. He's now set to return for another run of shows in 2026.
There's a Reason That Kenny Chesney Is the Best
Chesney was recently inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. One big reason is the ability he has to connect with his fans live. The country star has been performing for "No Shoes Nation," as he calls it, for over 30 years. Chesney dominates the country tour scene, having conducted a major stadium tour every single year since the early 2000s. Last year, he became the first country artist ever headline shows at the Las Vegas Sphere.
"You can't truly understand until you start playing music with all the people there, feeling that energy and the way the visuals and the songs just consume people," Chesney said of playing the venue. "The more I watched the fans having this experience I'm sure they couldn't imagine, the more ideas I had - both to reconfigure some of last year's songs, and a few songs that seemed like they should get this immersive treatment - and wanted to do."
"Like it does for everyone, the idea of music, live music, fills me up," Chesney shared of live performing. "Nothing is so in the moment, so completely alive."
