Kevin Costner Still Doesn't Care About The 'Yellowstone' Finale

It's a shame that Kevin Costner is probably never going to have positive things to say about Yellowstone. His unceremonious exit from the show led to a particularly thorny outcome for his character, John Dutton. For the purpose of avoiding spoilers for the odd person who hasn't watched yet, let's just say it was strange and abrupt. Apparently, the actor didn't know it was going to go down like that either.

Regardless, he found out what happened to his character but never bothered to check in for the rest of the show's final season. Nowadays, Costner still doesn't have anything to say about it, despite the media's insistence on his thoughts. Not long ago, the Daily Mail captured the Bull Durham star scoffing and casually dismissing the Taylor Sheridan hit series. "I'm not thinking about (Yellowstone's finale). I don't think I've given it any thought, we'll just let it go," he says.

Kevin Costner Once Again Shrugs Off The Existence of Yellowstone

This isn't the only time he has had to address this as well. When he went on The Michael Smerconish Program back in November 2024, he insisted that the show hadn't even been on his radar. "Well, I'm going to be perfectly honest. I didn't know it was actually airing last night. That's a swear-to-God moment. I swear to God," Costner stresses. "I mean, I've been seeing ads with my face all over the place and I'm thinking, 'Gee, I'm not in that one. I'm not in this season.' But I didn't realize yesterday was the thing. Somebody said, 'It played last night?' And I said, 'Hmm, okay.' So no, I found out about it this morning actually."

Now, the only kind of Yellowstone-related content you'll catch from him is on the 1903 Yosemite expedition. In January, Fox Nation announced Yosemite to Yellowstone With Kevin Costner, where he would retrace the footsteps of President Theodore Roosevelt and environmentalist John Muir. Not nearly as thrill-seeking, but that's all you'll get from the actor.
