Kid Rock Has Awkard Uncomfortable Encounter With Reporter During Inauguration After Asking Her To Go Skiing

Kid Rock not only starred as one of the performers during Trump's second inauguration celebration. He also starred in an awkward interview with a BBC News female reporter, with Rock asking her to go skiing live on air.

Rock was being interviewed by Irish BBC reporter Caitríona Perry. She was, however, caught off guard almost immediately when Kid Rock started to interview her instead. "What about you, what are you doing? Where are you at?" Rock asked Perry.

Perry handled the sudden question in a classy way. "Well, I'm standing on a rooftop in these very, very chilly conditions and will be on air for 11 or 12 hours," Perry said. "So I don't think I'll have anywhere near as fun of a day as you have planned for yourself there. That sounds like you got the better day here, indeed."

Rock, however, continued. "I mean, I can't see you right now so I don't know what you look like," he said. Perry, again, answered. "Well, I look like I'm ready to hit the slopes, I can tell you," she said. "I'm in full-on ski gear here with my hat, gloves the whole thing ready to rock 'cuz you gotta be wrapped up against the elements, don't ya?"

That's when the "All Summer Long" singer issued his invitation. "I love to go skiing, I love to go skiing, you sound sexy, you wanna go with me?" Rock asked. Perry, however, turned him down immediately, but subtly.

"Well, we won't get into that right here, so we're doing no skiing today, we've got a day of broadcasting to do," Perry said. "But Kid Rock, thank you so much for joining us here on BBC News. Enjoy your day." Kid Rock laughed and then said: "God bless."

User Reactions

Many online were quick to clap back against Rock, calling the interaction creepy, embarrassing, and, of course, "caring." "He definitely doesn't seem desperate," one user wrote. "Remember when Conservatives would freak out if a rapper talked like that?" a second user wrote. A third one said: "What do you expect from a rocker?!"

However, others were not as critical and even supported Rock's interaction with Perry. "Finally, freedom to speak your mind and make a joke in this new Presidency," one user wrote. "He doesn't give a flying duck, absolute legend," another user said of Rock. A third one said: "He paid her a compliment ffs. I thought she took it well anyway."

Whether it was a friendly interaction or not is something users online will have to decide. Regardless, Kid Rock was among the many artists who joined the celebrations as Donald Trump became the 47th President of the United States. Other performers included Lee Greenwood, the Village People, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jason Aldean, and Carrie Underwood, among others.
