In recent months, the war on bad business practices regarding purchasing concert ticket prices has been waged. Awareness online has increased and there has been legal action from the Department of Justice. But now, Kid Rock steps in.
Kid Rock Meets With Incoming Attorney General Over Concert Ticket Prices
He continued the statement, saying, "Gonna open a can of whoop a-- on the bots, scalpers, venues, ticketing companies, managers and artists alike who rip off and deceive the public with the horse s--t that has gone on for decades and only gotten worse."
"Whoever in charge that wants to help fix this, get your a- to the table, otherwise, F--k Around and Find Out. Kid Rock #MAGA," he concluded.
He not only openly joined the war against ticket malpractice, and called on all other musicians to do the same. Quite a bold move, but a necessary one. Love him or hate him, this is a battle that needs fighting.
Concert Ticket Malpractice Has Gone On For Far Too Long
For a long time, sites such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation have controlled the process of buying tickets. Their monopoly has needlessly inflated the price of concert tickets and has controlled the market to make them as much money as is unethically possible.
And Kid Rock has had enough.
The musician has spoken out before publicly about his disdain toward the system.
When he sat down with Theo Von in the This Past Weekend podcast, Kid Rock exposed how corrupt the system is and explained how absurd the markups are on their tickets. "They made over a billion dollars in the secondary market last year. That means if you buy a ticket and go to a concert, you're their worst customer. They want that ticket to resell, and resell, and keep getting that money on it," he said.
Kid Rock has been super open about his war against the ticket industry. Let's hope his meeting with the attorney general will help the cause.
