So when Johnny Hardwick died and the news was announced that King of The Hill would come back, people were naturally conflicted. What would this mean for the character of Dale Gribble? This put newcomer Toby Huss in an awkward situation. Now, he's opening up about the responsibility that comes with taking on an iconic character.

Recently, Huss spoke at a panel for the ATX TV Festival, captured by ComicBook.com. There, he opens up about taking over as Dale Gribble on King of The Hill. Ultimately, he admits how tough it's been for him to follow in the late Johnny Hardwick's footsteps. "Johnny was one-of-a-kind and a wonderful fellow. I'm not trying to copy Johnny... I guess I'm trying to be Johnny," Toby admits.
"He laid down a really wonderful goofball character... he had a lot of weird heart to him, and that's a credit to Johnny. So all I'm trying to do is hold on to his Dale-ness. We love our guy Johnny, and it's so sad that he's not here," he continues of the late King of The Hill voice actor.
